About Dr R Neff
Dr R Neff is a specialist psychiatrist with more than 10 years’ experience in mental health. Born and raised in Port Elizabeth, he completed the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Stellenbosch University (Tygerberg Hospital) in 2012, then returned to the Eastern Cape for internship and community service.
In 2015, while working in the Psychiatric Unit at Dora Nginza Hospital, his passion for mental health care was ignited, and he completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health the same year.
From 2016 to 2020 he trained as a registrar in the Eastern Cape based at Dora Nginza Hospital, with additional training exposure and service delivery at Livingstone Hospital, Port Elizabeth Hospital, Tygerberg Hospital (Cape Town), and Fort England Hospital (Grahamstown). He completed the Fellowship in Psychiatry (College of Psychiatrists) and the Master of Medicine in Psychiatry in 2020. Since then, Dr Neff has delivered services in both the private and public sectors as a specialist consultant psychiatrist.
